Crossing

In August of 2005, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson declared a state of emergency in hour southern New Mexico counties: Doña Ana, Luna, Hidalgo and Grant. In response to a rash of illegal border crossing between Columbus and the boot heel of New Mexico. In October of that same year, Minutemen from all over the United States gathered in the tiny town of Hachita, New Mexico to provide civilian patrols along the international boundary between New Mexico, USA and Mexico.

The KRWG TV documentary, Crossing, chronicles events that transpired between August and December 2005. The visually dynamic and powerful narrative provide for a documentary look inside the world of illegal border crossers and those that attempt to stop them, whether it be the United States Border Patrol, Minutemen or the perils of crossing in the desert. end
