News22 is Local
News22 is a full half-hour of news about and for the Mesilla Valley and Southwestern New Mexico. It is the ONLY locally produced TV newscast in Las Cruces. And when it comes to politics, we focus on Santa Fe, not Austin. Tune in each Monday through Thursday at 6:30pm for news about YOUR community, plus local sports, weather, and news in Spanish.

News22 is Unique
News22 is one of only a handful of nightly newscasts in the U.S. produced and directed entirely by students. Future broadcasters are trained in NMSU's journalism program under the direction of four station professionals, and using KRWG TV's state of the art facility.

Our newsroom is equipped with state-of-the-art professional field equipment and digital editing facilities, a portable live unit, a digital national/international news feed, police scanners, fax machines and a computerized news production system to bring you the latest breaking news in the region. We're dedicated to bringing you TODAY's local news - complete, accurate, balanced and timely.

News22 airs Monday through Thursday at 6:30pm immediately following the Nightly Business Report. Due to budget constraints, the newscast is currently on air only during NMSU's academic terms when students are available to work
