Imagine swimming two miles, taking a hundred mile trek on a bike and topping it off with a 26 mile run. If you can do all that in less than 17 hours, you might qualify as an “Ironman.” In this week’s show, we introduce you to NMSU’s Frankie Benavidez, who belongs to the elite “Ironman” club and will compete in the world competition in Hawaii.

In segment two, we focus on a unique agreement between NMSU and General Electric to work to find affordable ways to increase the supply of fresh water through desalination and other means. The effort combines GE’s commercial success and NMSU’s expertise in water research.

We close the show with coverage of a candlelight ceremony held on the NMSU campus for three students who died over the past academic year.
