The book tells the story of a young Honduran boy on a journey to find his mother. Las Cruces, NM – The unofficial results of the spaceport vote tally shows those in favor leading those opposed by 204 votes. But there are still 541 Provisional votes not yet counted. And they likely won't be all figured out until Thursday.

Voter Turnout Low So Far

Las Cruces, NM – Today residents across Dona Ana County have a chance to vote on the quarter percent gross receipts tax increase being proposed by the County Commission. Three quarters of the money generated by the tax would go to help the state construct Spaceport America. But as KRWG's Evan Woodward reports from Precinct 32, so far the voter turnout has been low.

DWI Checkpoints, a Big Success

3/31/07 – The Las Cruces Police Department has been busy this year keeping Las Crucens safe from drunk drivers. The police have been setting up checkpoints throughout the city to fight DWI. As KRWG's Jessica Borchert reports, A DWI checkpoint on Friday March 16 yielded five DWI arrests alone. Las Cruces Police Department Public Information Officer, Dan Trujillo says these checkpoints catch DWI offenders as well as a few others.

Las Cruces, NM – This past week, New Mexico senators Pete Domenici and Jeff Bingaman introduced bi-partisan legislation which could expand renewable fuels production in the United States. Trio Accused in Local Burglaries
