Las Cruces, NM – Las Cruces Police arrested a Deming man who fled from a traffic stop on Interstate 10. Las Cruces Police Information Officer Dan Trujillo says the Deming man was first pulled over for a speeding violation before leading the officer on a pursuit.

Las Cruces, NM – Las Cruces Police arrested two men for burglarizing a vehicle during a Sunday mass. Las Cruces Police Information Officer Dan Trujillo says the two men were caught vandalizing a vehicle at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathederal on Espina Street.

DWI Checkpoints, a Big Success

3/31/07 – The Las Cruces Police Department has been busy this year keeping Las Crucens safe from drunk drivers. The police have been setting up checkpoints throughout the city to fight DWI. As KRWG's Jessica Borchert reports, A DWI checkpoint on Friday March 16 yielded five DWI arrests alone. Las Cruces Police Department Public Information Officer, Dan Trujillo says these checkpoints catch DWI offenders as well as a few others.

Las Cruces, NM – This past week, New Mexico senators Pete Domenici and Jeff Bingaman introduced bi-partisan legislation which could expand renewable fuels production in the United States. The Biofuels For Energy Security and Transportation Act of 2007 wants America's renewable fuel supply to quadruple by 2022.

Trio Accused in Local Burglaries

Las Cruces, NM – The entire New Mexico congressional delegation came together to get supplemental funding for construction projects on Cannon Air Force base's new special operations command mission. NASA paying for Waste Violations

Las Cruces, NM – The New Mexico Environment Department has reached a settlement with NASA on hazardous waste violations at the white sands test facility. As KRWG's Jessica Borchert reports, White Sands was issued notices for over 14 violations in may 2004 and february 2006.

Aggies To Play Texas in NCAA Tournament

Las Cruces, NM – Yesterday, the Aggies Men's basketball team gathered at the Stan Fulton Athletic Center on the New Mexico State University campus. They were there to find out who they would be playing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament which starts this Thursday. As KRWG's Charles Winiecki reports, even though the team knew they were in the tournament, there were anxious moments leading up to the announcement.

Two Water Use and Management Bills Pass Unanimously in New Mexico House

Two water use and management bills introduced in the New Mexico Legislature by Representative Joseph Cervantes of Las Cruces passed through the House unanimously on Thursday. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, if house bill 579 becomes law, it could save Dona Ana County taxpayers $250,000.
