Iraqi Virtuoso Musician Visits Las Cruces

Las Cruces, NM – World renowned musician and Oud virtuoso Rahim AlHaj was in Las Cruces last weekend to perform during an evening of Iraqi music and poetry sponsored by Zephyr Press. AlHaj was born in Baghdad, Iraq and has been living in Albuquerque since the year 2000 as a political refugee. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, by playing music for people around the world AlHaj hopes to promote a better understanding of Iraqi art and culture.
