Panel Recommends Three For Vacant NM Judgeship
Three lawyers from Carlsbad have been recommended to Republican Gov. Susana Martinez for possible appointment to a vacant district court judgeship in southeastern New Mexico.
Denise A. Madrid Boyea, Jay L. Francis and Raymond Lewis Romero were recommended by a bipartisan nominating commission on Tuesday to replace District Judge J. Richard Brown, who retired at the end of December.
The commission made its decision after interviewing candidates for the vacancy in the 5th Judicial District, which covers Chaves, Eddy and Lea counties.
