Santa Fe, NM – New Mexico's two U-S Senators say they want to know more about former Vice President Dick Cheney's guidance that the C.I.A not tell Congress about a secret operation to capture and kill members of al Qaeda. C.I.A Director Leon Panetta has reportedly acknowledged it was Cheney who made the decision not to inform the eight members of House and Senate intelligence committees on the issue.

Senator Tom Udall told KUNM Tuesday he finds that unacceptable.

Las Cruces, NM – More than 3.3 million pounds of illegal narcotics were confiscated along the U.S./ Mexico Border during a nine-month period, a 64 % increase compared to the previous year, according to federal officials. Las Cruces, NM – A Las Cruces man was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend multiple times with a kitchen knife.
According to the Las Cruces Police Department, Vincent Mata, 22, of west Hadley Avenue, attacked his girlfriend shortly before two a.m. on Monday.

Las Cruces Police Spokesman, Dan Trujillo, says Mata initially lied to responding officers, blaming the attack on an unknown group of men.

Las Cruces – General Dynamics is opening a center for satellite tracking, telemetry and space communications at New Mexico State University's research park to work on national space and satellite programs.

The new center, called SpacePlex 2, will open July 22 at NMSU's Arrowhead Research Park. The center will add more than 15,000 square feet of office, laboratory and work areas to General Dynamic's existing presence in the research park.
